The Purpose of the role
A Production Inventory Controller (PIC) plays a key role in ensuring all raw materials in production are reconciled. He/she will be the main point person with our warehouses to ensure all inventory items and transactions are properly fulfilled.
About the Job
Detailed responsibilities include:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels for raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
- Provide a leading role in inventory audits such as annual, monthly and weekly counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical and system records.
- Utilize available inventory management systems to track and optimize stock movement.
- Coordinate with the raw materials team as well as production supervisor to ensure timely availability of materials based on production needs.
- Generate inventory reports and key performance metrics such raw material yield reports and variances.
- Provide insights to management on inventory trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Use data to identify and resolve bottlenecks in the inventory and production cycle.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, optimize inventory levels, and improve cost efficiency.
- Continuously improve inventory processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Train team members on inventory procedures and system usage.
- Ensure inventory practices comply with company policies and standard operating procedures related to raw material movement and utilization.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory movements, adjustments, and audits.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and complete inventory documentation.
Education and Experience Level
- Diploma education and above in business, IT, finance, economics, engineering, science, or related course plus more than 1 year in inventory control management and process.
